How to choose the right induction hardening equipment

Choosing the right induction hardening equipment is one of the most concerned issues for every user when purchasing a machine. If the machine is not suitable, it will cause a lot of trouble in production in the future.

The choice of induction heating equipment is related to the depth of the heating layer required for the workpiece.

For heating large workpieces, power supply equipment with a lower current frequency should be used ;

For devices with small heating layers , power supplies with higher current frequency should be used.

Another condition for selecting a power device is device power.

As the heating surface area increases, the required power supply increases accordingly.

When the heating surface area is too large or the power supply is insufficient, a continuous heating method may be employed to relatively move the workpiece and the inductor, the front side is heated, and the rear side is cooled. However, it is best to heat the entire heated surface once. In this way, the hardened surface layer can be tempered by utilizing the residual heat of the workpiece core, thereby simplifying the process and saving energy.

The frequency of the induction hardening equipment is selected according to the different requirements of the depth of the quenching layer .

If the quenching layer depth is required between 1.5-3mm and the diameter of the disc parts within 500mm , select the WH series super audio quenching power supply.

If the depth of the quenching layer is required to quench the disc parts between 2 and 10 mm , the JZ series medium frequency quenching power source should be selected .

Taking the 200mm diameter sprocket quenching as an example, the SD- 80 super-audio quenching power supply should be selected with a CNC quenching machine with a stroke of 1m .

Take the 400mm diameter gear quenching as an example, it is necessary to use SD- 120 super-audio quenching power supply with CNC grinding machine with stroke of 1m .

For example, the quenching of a 600mm diameter roller is to use a JZ-200/6 medium frequency quenching power supply with a hydraulic pneumatic quenching machine.

For example, the quenching of a drive wheel with a diameter of 700 mm is to use a JZ-200/6 medium frequency quenching power supply with a hydraulic pneumatic quenching machine.
